You must develop the physical skills and the mental IQ to develop and recognize mid-range finishes when driving to the basket. High school players and younger have grown accustomed to finishing with uncontested layups when driving to the basket. If those players wait until they play at a high level to develop the skills it’s going to be a tough adjustment period. I’d suggest that those players are proactive and study and rep out mid-range finishes.
